Des Moines's Benny Neville brought his best stuff to Pioneer Park Grounds, shutting down and shutting out the Minneapolis Sawyers, 13-0. He racked up 10 strikeouts, surrendered 10 hits, and issued no walks on his way to the victory.

"We barely made him work at all," Minneapolis manager Matt Moore said later. "Des Moines could probably pitch him again tomorrow if they wanted."
