Cincinnati pitcher Norm Mason made his presence felt in the 8-3 Monarchs triumph over the Montreal Tigers. Mason threw 9.0 innings of 7-hit ball. Mason got the win, improving to 9-16. He gave up 7 hits and walked 4 over 9 innings. He allowed 3 runs.

In the top of the 6th, third baseman Will Bowling gave Cincinnati the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Monarchs had been trailing 2-1, but the two-out single off Montreal pitcher Joe Henry changed that -- and Cincinnati went on to win.
