| Baltimore Victorious, 3-2, Versus Toronto | The Baltimore Bannermen defeated the Toronto Provincials, 3-2, in International Association action at Garrison Common Grounds. Baltimore pitcher Hugh Brigand had a standout performance. With this game in the books, Baltimore is 35-36, Toronto 39-29.
Had Rich Spencer not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Spencer hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Bannermen.
Toronto manager said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said. | | | | |
