Montreal Tigers starter Stu Archibald turned in an exceptional performance against the Toronto Provincials at St. Gabriel Grounds II, resulting in a Montreal win, 6-2. The second-place Tigers have won 5 straight games.

An inflection point occurred with one out in the bottom of the fifth. That's when Tigers shortstop Dave Dye hit a fastball from Henry Clancy for a 2-run single. Just like that, Montreal was up, 3-2.

"Stu went out and got the job done," said Tigers manager .
