| Kansas City Claims 7-5 Victory | The Kansas City Prairie Dogs picked up a win at Carver Grounds, taking down the Cleveland Clippers, 7-5. Starting pitcher Bill Nolette was a big reason why. The winning pitcher was Nolette, now 14-22. He tossed 9 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 5. Kansas City is now 28-56, Cleveland 25-55.
Making an impact for the home team was Jim Scott. In the bottom of the second, the 32-year old first baseman had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 2-0, Prairie Dogs.
"In this profession, you've got to put the good and the bad behind you quickly," Cleveland skipper said. | | | | |
