Pilots Take Down Monarchs, 11-10, in 10
The St. Louis Pilots topped the Cincinnati Monarchs by a score of 11-10 in 10 innings. Leading the way was left fielder John Tennison. Tennison was 2-5 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 5 for the Pilots. At 79-26, the Pilots are currently first in the International Association.

The Monarchs had been locked in a 9-9 tie with the Pilots going into the top of the tenth inning. That changed quickly when the 27-year old right-handed pitcher Ajax McFadden came to the plate. McFadden hit a 2-run double on a full count screwball from Cincinnati hurler Kenneth Ranson. It was McFadden's 22nd double of the year.

"Ugly win or not, we'll take it," said McFadden.
