| Ayers Shuts Out Boston, 4-0 | Bulldog Ayers was in a mood to talk following the St. Louis Pilots contest against the Boston Brahmins, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Brahmins, 4-0.
"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Ayers said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."
The right-hander blanked Boston on a 2-hitter, allowing no walks and racking up 2 strikeouts.
