Columbians Grind Out 2-1 Win
In a low-scoring affair between the Washington Columbians and the Boston Brahmins, pitcher John Kershaw was the difference between victory and defeat. The Washington right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-1 Columbians win. Washington is now 5-5.

Washington shortstop Timothy Red helped the Columbians go up, 1-0, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Red hit a run-scoring single off Boston pitcher Will James.

Washington manager called it "a good, solid win."
