Washington Rips 2 Home Runs in 22-8 Cyclones Triumph
Roman Washington was instrumental in his team's 22-8 triumph over the Milwaukee Creams. The second baseman belted 2 home runs. He scored 4 runs and drove in 4 for the Chicago Cyclones. Ben Brownfield earned the win, while 29-year old right-handed pitcher Norm Schmitt took the loss for Milwaukee. Now 11-3, the 1883 Cyclones have been sensational so far.

Cap White had a big 2-run double for the Cyclones in the top of the first inning. With Chicago leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from Norm Schmitt, who is tied for 3rd in the FL with a 4.8 K/9 rate, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cyclones ahead, 3-0.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Washington, "one at-bat at a time."
