Cannons Collect 2-1 Win Over Pioneers
Starting pitcher Beau McHugh gave the Baltimore Cannons a rock-solid performance, helping them defeat the St. Louis Pioneers, 2-1, in 12 innings. St. Louis is 9-7 after the defeat.

The Cannons got a clutch hit from catcher Harry Ransom. In the bottom of the 12th, he hit a run-scoring single to left, to win the game for the Cannons.

"The old adage is true," said Ransom. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
