The Washington Columbians picked up a win at Columbians Stadium, downing the Baltimore Cannons, 6-3. On the mound for Washington was right-hander John Kershaw, who played a pivotal role in the win. In 9 innings, Kershaw surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed 3 runs. The 7th-place Columbians go to 13-22.

The Columbians got a big hit from third baseman Bill Palmer. Facing Baltimore pitcher Beau McHugh in the bottom of the sixth, Palmer pounded a bases-clearing triple to right. His 1st triple of the season put the Columbians ahead, 6-2.
