 | Chicago Shuts Out Louisville Behind Crockett, 4-0 Monday, September 17th , 1883 Doug Crockett of the Chicago Cyclones overwhelmed the Louisville Colts and walked off the mound with a complete-game shutout. He blanked them, 4-0, on 2 hits with a total of 4 strikeouts and 2 walks. "Doug was on quite a roll," Chicago manager said. "He gets great late movement and he doesn't give in to the hitters." Crockett has made 59 starts so far this year and put up a 38-21 won-lost record with a 2.79 ERA. In 529 innings he has allowed 507 hits, walked 95 and struck out 224.
