 | Bird Tosses 3-0 Shutout Wednesday, August 27th , 1884 Martin Bird scattered 2 hits over 9 innings, going the distance in the Chicago Cyclones 3-0 victory over the Milwaukee Creams at Garrison Grounds. The 23-year-old Bird whiffed 10 and issued no walks. "Not perfect today, but I'll definitely take it," Bird said. "I made a couple mistakes but thankfully they didn't get all of them and the guys behind me cleaned things up." Currently Bird has a 19-17 won-lost record in 37 starts with a 3.12 ERA.
