 | Pioneers End McCord Streak Thursday, September 9th , 1886 Lady Luck was not on the side of Mike McCord or his teammates at Pioneers Park. Everything went the way of the St. Louis Pioneers, who not only came away with the 2-1 victory over Philadelphia, but also held McCord hitless in 4 at-bats to put an end to his 20-game hitting streak. "It was a good run," McCord said afterward. "It would be much easier to take right now if we had won." McCord is currently hitting .325 with no home runsand 48 RBIs, while scoring 91 runs. |   |
