 | Burbank Shackles Washington Thursday, September 30th , 1886 Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Washington Federals as starter Doc Burbank shut them out, 6-0, at Capitol Park. The St. Louis pitcher struck out 5 and walked 5 while allowing 6 hits. "Burbank was good but he wasn't flawless," Washington manager said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from St. Louis, but this is on us."
