Tuesday, August 4th , 1896
In a remarkable performance, New York Titans starter Toad Enright beat the Buffalo Bulls, 9-0, in an impressive 2-hit shutout.

"My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this."

The Titans hurler finished with 2 strikeouts and no walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.

"It was a rough one for my guys," Buffalo manager said, following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was."

This season, Enright has worked 185 innings with 78 strikeouts en route to a 13-6 record and a 3.11 ERA.
