Dandridge Shuts Out Tobacconists, 9-0
Friday, September 9th , 1887
It was not a good day at the plate for the Durham Tobacconists. They came up empty when it mattered against Richmond Rebels right-hander Heck Dandridge, who scattered 2 hits across 9 innings and held the Tobacconists scoreless.

"We had 2 hits so I know he wasn't completely untouchable, but he was close," Durham manager said later.

Dandridge chalked up 12 strikeouts and 4 walks in the 9-0 Rebels win.

This year, Dandridge has worked 231 innings with 211 strikeouts en route to a 16-11 record and 2.65 ERA.
