| Faulk at His Best, Whips Sycamores Thursday, August 30th , 1888 It was a smooth and solid performance by George Faulk of the New Orleans Creoles against the Savannah Sycamores. He crafted a fine 4-hitter to blank the Sycamores, 4-0. He chalked up 8 strikeouts and no walks along the way.
"It certainly makes my job easy when my pitcher tosses a shutout," said New Orleans skipper . "I can just sit back, watch and enjoy."
