 | Hooper Wins SSL Player of the Week Prize Monday, October 1st , 1888 It was an exceptional week for Henry Hooper of the Birmingham Vulcans. First he beat the devil out of the ball, hitting .538 and as you would expect, he was voted the Player of the Week in the Southern States League. Last week Hooper went 7-for-13, notched 2 home runs and 5 RBIs and scored 2 runs. All in all, a very good week for him. Hooper is hitting .357 in 1888 with 66 RBIs and 15 home runs. |   |
