 | Scott Tosses 4-0 Shutout Monday, October 1st , 1888 Albie Scott really had his stuff working at Cumberland Grounds. The Nashville Hickories hurler mystified the Birmingham Vulcans, shutting them out, 4-0. Scott allowed a total of 5 hits in the ballgame and struck out 13. "The shutout is nice, but I'm just happy we won," Scott said with a smile after the game. "Coach can be a real bear when we lose." To date, Scott has a 32-14 mark in 46 starts with a 1.57 ERA. He has given up 315 hits in 417.2 innings, struck out 414 and issued 59 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .209 batting average against him. |   |
