 | Nolan Hits in 20 Straight Games Wednesday, August 19th , 1896 Fred Nolan has been ripping hits every day for a while now, and nobody seems able to stop him. The Memphis second baseman picked up 3 more today against the Atlanta Firebirds and now has a 20-game hitting streak. The Bruins won the game, 17-7. "Definitely somebody's going to stop me at some point," he said later, chuckling. "I'll enjoy it for the time being." Fred Nolan singled in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, walked in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 8th.
