| Lincoln Bats Silenced by Yockey Saturday, August 20th , 1887 Steve Yockey held the Lincoln Statesmen to 7 hits and fashioned a fine 3-0 shutout at South Omaha Grounds.
Speaking after the game, Omaha Stockmen manager said "Yockey had everything going for him today. He changed speeds effectively, stayed down, had a lot of movement. He was masterful."
Yockey rung up 3 strikeouts and surrendered no walks in the game.
"We couldn't get anything going. He certainly had our number," Lincoln manager told reporters.
In 29 starts this season, Yockey has picked up 14 wins while suffering 15 losses. He has pitched 256.1 innings, allowed 242 hits, struck out 107 and posted a 2.91 ERA. | | |
