 | Hits Galore: Rippy Drills 5 Hits Sunday, July 1st , 1888 Ron Rippy did more than his part as the Omaha Stockmen topped the Lincoln Statesmen, 19-7, at South Omaha Grounds. The Stockmen catcher pounded out 5 hits to pace his team. Ron Rippy singled in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
