 | Jackson Runs Hit String to 20 Straight Games Thursday, September 3rd , 1896 Jimmy Jackson ran his hitting streak to 20 straight games at Trinity Grounds, when he collected 2 hits in 4 at-bats. The feat came, however, as the Houston Eagles dropped the game, 8-7, to the Dallas Steers. "Hey, the streak is great -- I hope it never ends," Jackson said later. "But I'm not happy to lose the game." Jimmy Jackson doubled in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and walked in the 9th.
