 | Vincent Has 20-Game Hitting Streak Thursday, September 3rd , 1896 Al Vincent ran his hitting streak to 20 straight games at Trinity Grounds, when he collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats. The feat came, however, as the Houston Eagles dropped the game, 8-7, to the Dallas Steers. "Hey, the streak is great -- I hope it never ends," Vincent said later. "But I'm not happy to lose the game." Al Vincent singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.
