| Barons Lose Again, 3-2, to Vulcans | Starting pitcher Ed Wales gave the Pittsburgh Vulcans a rock-solid effort. The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native helped his team defeat the New York Barons, 3-2, at Vulcan Grounds. The winning pitcher was Wales, now 4-4. He tossed 9 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 3. Now 7-13, the Barons have gotten off to a poor start.
With Pittsburgh leading 2-1 in the bottom of the sixth, Wales hit a run-scoring single off New York hurler Jack McKinley. It was the 5th hit of the season for Wales and put his team ahead, 3-1.
