| Philadelphia Upended by Louisville, 5-1 | Louisville Colts pitcher Sam Barnhill was in fine form, leading his team past the Philadelphia Unions, 5-1. Barnhill, now 4-4, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 10 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Losses have been few and far between for the Unions, now 13-5.
Hick Rogers went 3-5 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs for Louisville. The 30-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a 2-run single off Thomas Goss. It was his 23rd hit of the season.
