Cyclones Edge Past Creams, 5-4
The Chicago Cyclones did just enough to sneak past the Milwaukee Creams, 5-4, at Garrison Grounds. Chicago pitcher Doug Crockett, in particular, had a standout performance. In 9 innings, Crockett surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 4. He allowed 4 runs. The loss drops Milwaukee to 1-2.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, an error by the Creams allowed the Cyclones to score the winning run.

"Doug giving us the start that he did was huge," said Chicago manager .
