Louisville got a terrific game from right fielder Charlie Shanafelt. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Philadelphia, 9-8, in 10 innings. Shanafelt went 5 for 5 with 2 doubles and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The loss makes Louisville 77-53.

The Unions got a clutch hit from shortstop Mike McCord. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Unions.

"That's a solid team effort right there," said McCord. "Everyone's feeling positive after that win."
