| Westerners Earn 3-1 Road Win Over Philadelphia | The Indianapolis Westerners picked up a win at Girard Grounds II, knocking off the Philadelphia Unions, 3-1. Starting pitcher Doc Burbank played a key role in the triumph. Indianapolis is 6th in the Federal League with a record of 64-66.
With the game tied, 0-0, in the top of the fifth, Burbank had a key at-bat for Indianapolis. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Burbank hit a run-scoring single off Jack Malley, making the score 1-0, Westerners.
"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Burbank.
