The Toronto Provincials topped the Cleveland Clippers, 15-6, with left fielder Bill Lucier playing a big role. Lucier went 3 for 5 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Provincials in the win. Toronto, at 63-51, sits in 4th place in the International Association.

Toronto used the timely hitting of Merritt Hunter to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Provincials on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Lucier.
