| Down to Defeat Go Pilots, 3-1 | The Cleveland Clippers picked up a win at Fuchs Park, defeating the St. Louis Pilots, 3-1. Starting pitcher Dan Hicks was an essential part of his team's success. The triumph makes Cleveland 40-84.
Cleveland used the timely hitting of Randy Mix to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Clippers on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
