| Monarchs 9-2 Losers to Baltimore | It might have been a rain-shorted game, but Bannermen fans didn't seem to mind as long as their team got the win.
Baltimore Bannermen starter Dennis Durr found his groove in his team's 9-2 win over the Cincinnati Monarchs. Durr got the win, improving to 34-18. He gave up 4 hits and walked 0 over 8 innings. He allowed 2 runs.
Baltimore first baseman Jackrabbit Hoppe contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a sinker to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 142nd hit of the season and put the Bannermen ahead, 3-0.
"You can't take yourself too seriously," Durr told the Baltimore Today. "But at the end of the day, we do play to win ballgames."
The win elevated the Bannermen to 66-32. | | | | |
