Topsy Jackson Blanks Providence, 4-0 | Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Providence Patriots as starter Topsy Jackson shut them out, 4-0, at Railmen's Yard. The Reading pitcher struck out 9 and walked 0 while allowing 6 hits.
"Jackson was good but he wasn't flawless," Providence manager Kevin Ord said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from Reading, but this is on us."
