| Lamb, Vulcans Finish Off Unions, 7-1 | Philadelphia had no answer for Pittsburgh Vulcans hurler Stanley Lamb, who overwhelmed Unions hitters as the Vulcans coasted to victory, 7-1. The third-place Vulcans are 21-17.
Lamb, the winning pitcher, goes to 10-8 on the season. In 9 innings, the left-hander limited the opposition to 1 run on 4 hits, while recording 8 punchouts. Lamb and the Vulcans were able to cruise to victory.
"Stanley was really on it," said Pittsburgh manager . "He's got a feel for playing with the hitter front-to-back, side-to-side."
