Blue Caps Turn Away Cyclones, 4-2 | Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Cleveland Blue Caps got the win.
The Cleveland Blue Caps got a strong performance from pitcher Dan Hicks. Cotton stymied the Chicago offense en route to a solid, 4-2 win at Lakeside Grounds. Hicks, now 14-1, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs.
Will Wessels hit a 2-run triple off Doug Crockett in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Blue Caps in front, 2-1. Wessels had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.
