The New York Barons picked up a win at Girard Grounds II, topping the Philadelphia Unions, 5-3. On the mound for New York was right-hander Jack McKinley. He played a principal role in the triumph. New York, at 26-26, sits in 5th place in the Federal League.

An inflection point occurred with two out in the top of the seventh. That's when Barons left fielder Jefferson McMillen hit a fastball from Jack Malley for a 2-run single. Just like that, New York was up, 4-3.

"It was a solid, all-around game for us," said New York manager .
