Barons Pull Out Late Win, 5-4
The New York Barons did just enough to secure a victory over the Philadelphia Unions, 5-4, in 11 innings at Girard Grounds II. Nobody did more than pitcher Ted Carson. Carson, now 7-10, was the winner. In 11 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing 4 runs. With the win, the Barons improved to 27-27.

New York took advantage of an error in the top of the 11th inning. The game was tied, 4-4, when Dave Claiborne hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Barons in front, 5-4.
