Excelsiors Lose as Clippers Stage Late Rally
Cleveland shortstop Bird Brennan was a significant contributor in his team's 9-6 triumph over the New York Excelsiors. He was 3-5 with a triple and 2 singles. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for the Clippers. The 7th-place Clippers own a record of 11-21.

Cleveland took advantage of an error in the top of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 6-6, when Joe Taylor hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put the Clippers in front, 8-6.

"It was sure nice to get the win but there's a lot of baseball left," Brennan after the game.
