Garrison Grounds was the site for Federal League action featuring the Philadelphia Unions and Chicago Cyclones.

The Chicago Cyclones withstood a fine game by Philadelphia left fielder Mike Loughlin at Garrison Grounds, to upend the Unions, 9-4. Loughlin was 3-4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 3 runs. The winning pitcher was 24-year old right-handed pitcher Jim Lucier. He tossed 136 pitches over 9 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits.

Chicago went up, 5-4, on Bill Avery's 7th triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Avery hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Philadelphia pitcher Jack Malley muttering to himself.
