Unions Pull Out Late Win, 7-6
The Philadelphia Unions turned back the Chicago Cyclones, 7-6, at Girard Grounds. Alexander Faulk, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 3 for 5 with 3 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win belonged to Randy Mix in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Doug Crockett took the loss for Chicago. The Unions raised their record to 27-41.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 12th inning, when Philadelphia right fielder Leo Showalter, facing Doug Crockett, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Unions the 7-6 win.

"Our team showed some spunk," said Showalter.
