The Louisville Colts beat the Philadelphia Unions, 7-5. Louisville pitcher and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, native Sam Barnhill led the way. Barnhill yielded 5 runs over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 10 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 15-11. The second-place Colts are 51-35.

The game was all tied up in the top of the eighth, until Barnhill delivered big-time for Louisville, stroking a dramatic 2-run single off Bancroft King. The game-changing hit put the Colts on top, 6-4.
