Montgomery Helps Toronto Bombard Cleveland
With center fielder Isaac Montgomery leading the charge, the Toronto Provincials defeated the Cleveland Clippers, 14-4, at Garrison Common Grounds. Montgomery, who finished 4th in the IA in runs with 132 last year, was 3 for 4 with a home run, a triple, and a double. He scored 3 runs and drove in 5. Toronto pitcher Fred Brody got the win. He's now 8-7. Eddie Montague was tagged with the loss. Toronto is in 4th place in the International Association with a record of 20-17.

Early in the game, Montgomery had a 2-run home run for Toronto. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Provincials on top, 4-2.

"Isaac leaves the last at-bat behind him, whether it was good or bad, and goes up there and competes on every pitch," said Toronto manager .
