| New York Earn 7-2 Victory at Vulcan Grounds | Soggy conditions did not keep New York and Pittsburgh from playing their scheduled game.
The New York Barons picked up a win at Vulcan Grounds, dropping the Pittsburgh Vulcans, 7-2. Tom Samples, who is the top prospect in the Barons organization, was the difference-maker. Samples got the win, improving to 1-2. He gave up 5 hits and walked 1 over 7.1 innings. He allowed 2 runs.
With no one out in the top of the seventh, Conn Hausman had a game-changing hit. The Barons center fielder slammed a 2-run single off George Ashe, making the score 6-2, New York.
