Rallying Brahmins Get 9-8 Win
The Boston Brahmins defeated the Montreal Tigers, 9-8, at Brahmins Grounds. Leading the charge for Boston was shortstop Cecil Mathews. He was 3-5 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Boston reliever Peter Gates picked up the win. Rodney Friesen took the loss for Montreal. The Brahmins saw their record improve to 27-28.

The decisive blow was delivered by Pete Applegate in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a run-scoring double off fan favorite Rodney Friesen to win the game for Boston. The home crowd went nuts.

"This was a tremendous character win for our team," said Boston manager .
