The Toronto Provincials used an offensive barrage to beat the Boston Brahmins, 11-1, at Brahmins Grounds. Bill Lucier, who is tied for 10th in the IA with a .282 batting average, led the way, going 4-for-6 for Toronto. Picking up the win was Henry Clancy. He went 9 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits. The right--hander struck out 2 and walked 2.
In the top of the second, Lucier had one of his most important at-bats: a 2-run single off Ken Burns that staked the Provincials to a 2-0 lead.
Boston manager said his team was "out of sync."
