| Win Makes Monarchs 46-38 | The Cincinnati Monarchs picked up a win at Excelsior Grounds, dropping the New York Excelsiors, 7-4. Kenneth Ranson, who is tied for 8th in the IA in quality starts with 16, was the difference-maker. Ranson, now 13-8, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 5, and allowing 4 runs. Cincinnati is now 46-38, New York 27-51.
With one out in the top of the seventh, Ty Vanlandingham had a game-changing hit. The Monarchs right fielder slammed a 2-run single off Bill Nolette, making the score 7-4, Cincinnati.
