Narrow Win Takes Montreal Streak to 7
St. Gabriel Grounds II played host to some real drama.

Thanks in large part to left fielder Spider Burchett, the Montreal Tigers beat the New York Excelsiors, 6-5. Burchett went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times. John Babbitt got credit for the win, improving to 15-13. He allowed 5 runs on 9 hits in 9 innings.

Buster Brown contributed to the Tigers cause with a productive at-bat in the bottom of the second inning. With the bases loaded, he hit a 2-run single, giving Montreal the lead.

"The guys are feeling pretty good about where they're at right now," said Tigers manager . "We have a lot of guys playing with confidence."
