"It felt like it was a postseason game, one out at a time," said his manager. "It was something special to see."
The 23-year-old McCord picked up his 150th career victory at Girard Grounds. He hurled 9 innings, gave up 3 hits and registered 3 strikeouts along with 2 walks.
"I've worked a long time for this," McCord said. "I can't believe it's really here. It feels great!"
Lifetime McCord has compiled a 150-108 record with a 2.58 ERA in 263 starts.
