 | Tigers Shut Out Monarchs, Henry Winner Friday, October 5th , 1888 Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Cincinnati Monarchs as starter Joe Henry shut them out, 6-0, at St. Gabriel Grounds II. The Montreal pitcher struck out 5 and walked 2 while allowing 3 hits. "Henry was good but he wasn't flawless," Cincinnati manager said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from Montreal, but this is on us."
