Federals Pull Off Thrilling 1-0 Win in Extras | Washington left-hander Norm Schmitt shut out the Detroit Sturgeons, 1-0. At 29-83, the Federals are currently last in the Federal League.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With one out, Schmitt hit a sinker from Bill Poole for a run-scoring double. The Federals, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"We saved our best for last," said Schmitt. | | | | |
